Monkey Barrel Comedy’s foundation is live performances ranging from comedy, music, improv, theatre and more! As the ‘’The beating heart of the Fringe’’
(The Telegraph) and as a year round performance venue which has become an artistic hub, we are dedicated to ensure your live performance is fully catered for.
Inclusive of a variety of options extending to technicians, bars, bartenders, door staff and professional lighting and sound equipment and control boards, Monkey Barrel has the ability to cater for any live performance requirements.
Additionally, we offer professional live video and sound recording, streaming, podcasting and ticketing packages to ensure your performance is effortless. Our venues are configurable to your needs and range from 50 to 200 capacity.

Private Events
Monkey Barrel Comedy has multiple spaces and packages to ensure your next birthday, anniversaries, ceilidh or celebration to help create a memorable moment.
Every event includes a fully stocked bar and fully trained bar staff. Every event comes with professional lighting and sound, projectors, microphones to ensure every occasion can be catered for.
Four separate venues are available including two themed escape rooms and a magical make it yourself cocktail bar if you wish for a more magical experience for your event.
We offer a range of drinks packages, ranging from fizz to draft and all available in our fully equipped venues. Each venue varies depending on requirements but we can cater for standing and seating options based on your needs from 30 to 350 guests.
Available as flat room hire fee, building rental fee or hourly rate.
Workshops & Meetings
Monkey Barrel Comedy specialises in workshop spaces within our venues that can accommodate your workshop from performance based, first aid or even classes.
We can customise the rooms to your requirements from seated to open plans inclusive of full professional sound lighting and PA installations and optional technicians to provide the best environment for your needs.
The aim of our workshop packages is to take the pressure off your event with online and ticket platform options to provide a customised space for your workshop.
Available as a flat room hire fee or daily hourly rate.
Conferences & Lectures
Monkey Barrel Comedy is situated in the heart of the old town off the royal mile with easy public transport and local parking options making it perfect for meetings, lectures and conferences from 50 to 150 attendees.
Our venues include customisable room layouts, coffee, tea and food options. Additionally, to ensure your conference is fully catered for we include our professional equipment extending to sound and lighting rigs / boards, on and off stage microphones, projectors, side screens and a trained technician to assist with any requirements.
Available in flat room hire fee, building rental or day / half day hire rates.
